BIO:

Alona is a freelance Ukrainian dance artist based in Iceland. She is interested in diverse art projects as a performer, choreographer or director. She graduated from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts as a Theatre and Performance Maker.

Alona focuses on the sensitivity and emotional content of dance. Often her works are based or inspired by personal experience. Alona is punctual, has good organizational skills, she is good at listening and feeling the group.

Alona´s background is in rhythmic gymnastics and contemporary dance. She studied modern-, jazz- and contemporary dance in Ukraine with various choreographers and during two years at the National University.

In Iceland Alona established Dance School Austurland at the East of Iceland.

Some of her latest works include: “Hello, We Are from Ukraine”, performance on the Open Stage in Dansdagar, participation in the performance “Soft Encounters” by Katrin Gunnarsdottir at RDF, choreography for the work “Pointe of Axis”.
